Sewer camerainspection.

A recorded look inside your sewer lateral, so a repair decision is based on what's actually there instead of a guess.

When it's worth doing

Before you buy a house

A lateral replacement is one of the larger unexpected costs a new homeowner can hit, and it isn't covered by a standard home inspection. On a pre-1970 East Bay home, an inspection before close is cheap insurance.

Before you sell

If your property is in an EBMUD sewer lateral community, a compliance certificate is generally required at sale. Finding out early turns it into a planned line item instead of something that stalls escrow. More on compliance here.

When the same line keeps backing up

Clearing a line that blocks repeatedly is treating a symptom. The camera tells you whether it's roots at a joint, a broken section, a belly holding water, or something lodged.

Before anyone digs

We don't quote a lateral repair from guesswork. The camera decides whether it's a spot repair, a trenchless liner, or a full replacement — and the difference between those is thousands of dollars.

What you get

  • A full inspection from the cleanout to the main
  • The footage, which is yours to keep and share with an agent or a buyer
  • Our honest read on what it shows, including "this is fine, don't spend money"
  • Locating and depth marking where a repair looks likely

Friendly Care Plus members get one camera inspection a year included.

Our installation promise

Every price covers a standard installation — equipment installed or replaced where the existing water, gas, electrical and venting are already in place and to code.

What we commit to

  • If your setup needs work beyond the standard install, we tell you before we start — the difference in writing, for you to approve
  • If you'd rather not proceed at that point, you cancel and we refund in full
  • Five-year warranty on our workmanship
  • Full manufacturer warranty on the equipment — we're an authorized dealer, and we handle the claims for you
  • Permit pulled and inspection met where the work requires it
  • Old equipment hauled away and the area left clean

What we ask from you

  • Accurate information about your setup when you order — fuel type, location, and anything unusual about access
  • Clear access to the work area, with pets secured, on the scheduled day
  • Someone 18 or over at the property to approve the work and accept the install
  • At least 24 hours' notice to reschedule, so the slot can go to someone else
  • Payment on completion, as agreed before we started

Special-order equipment is ordered specifically for you, so cancellations after it ships may carry the supplier's restocking fee. We'll tell you before ordering if that applies.

Short version: no surprises from us, no surprises from you.

Usually under an hour unless access is difficult.

What if you don't find anything wrong?

Then we tell you that and you've spent a small amount for real peace of mind. We're not going to invent a problem.

Do you need a cleanout?

It's much easier with one. If your house doesn't have one, we'll discuss options before starting.
