Whole-housewater filtration.

East Bay tap water meets every safety standard. What it also does — quietly, for years — is carry chlorine, chloramine, sediment and hardness minerals through every pipe, fixture and appliance you own.

Your water is safe. Your pipes aren't.

What your water is doing to your house

Hard water leaves scale inside your water heater, your dishwasher, your washing machine and every valve in the house. It doesn't announce itself. It just makes everything fail earlier than it should — and most people replace the appliance without ever knowing why it went.

Where you live decides how bad it is. EBMUD water on the Oakland and Hayward side is moderate. Zone 7 water in Dublin, Pleasanton, Livermore and San Ramon is considerably harder, and it's the single biggest reason water heaters out there die young.

8–12Years a water heater should last. Scale can take a third of that.
Pre-1970When most East Bay homes were plumbed — original galvanized adds rust and metallic taste.
Zone 7Tri-Valley water is markedly harder than EBMUD supply across the hills.
Every tapWhat a point-of-entry system treats — not just the one you drink from.

Which system fits

Most common

Whole-house carbon

Installed where water enters the house, so every tap and shower is treated. Handles chlorine and chloramine taste and smell.

Often paired

Sediment pre-filter

Catches grit and particulate before it reaches fixtures and appliances. Worth it in older neighborhoods with aging mains.

Drinking water

Under-sink reverse osmosis

The most thorough residential filtration available, installed at one tap — usually the kitchen.

Tri-Valley

Filtration + softening

The usual recommendation on Zone 7 water, where hardness is the bigger problem and filtration alone won't fix it.

Sizing matters more than brand

An undersized whole-house filter restricts flow and you'll notice it in the shower. We size on your home's fixture count and actual demand. If you're not sure what you need, we'll test what's coming out of your tap before recommending anything.

Our installation promise

Every price covers a standard installation — equipment installed or replaced where the existing water, gas, electrical and venting are already in place and to code.

What we commit to

  • If your setup needs work beyond the standard install, we tell you before we start — the difference in writing, for you to approve
  • If you'd rather not proceed at that point, you cancel and we refund in full
  • Five-year warranty on our workmanship
  • Full manufacturer warranty on the equipment — we're an authorized dealer, and we handle the claims for you
  • Permit pulled and inspection met where the work requires it
  • Old equipment hauled away and the area left clean

What we ask from you

  • Accurate information about your setup when you order — fuel type, location, and anything unusual about access
  • Clear access to the work area, with pets secured, on the scheduled day
  • Someone 18 or over at the property to approve the work and accept the install
  • At least 24 hours' notice to reschedule, so the slot can go to someone else
  • Payment on completion, as agreed before we started

Special-order equipment is ordered specifically for you, so cancellations after it ships may carry the supplier's restocking fee. We'll tell you before ordering if that applies.

Short version: no surprises from us, no surprises from you.

Water Filtration questions

Do I need whole-house or just under-sink?

Under-sink handles drinking water. Whole-house handles showers, laundry and every tap. Most people who care about chlorine smell in the shower want whole-house.

How often do filters need changing?

Typically every 6 to 12 months depending on the system and your usage. Members get it handled at the annual visit.

Will it fix hard water?

No — filtration and softening are different jobs. If you're in the Tri-Valley, you likely want both.

Can you test my water first?

Yes. We'd rather test than sell you a system for a problem you don't have.

Questions first?

Not sure which system you need?

Tell us where you are and what your water tastes like. We'll test it before recommending anything — and if you don't need a system, we'll say so.
